Was this ebuild tested?
I dropped a message in IRC, but I'll duplicate here in case it was missed. We currently have https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/1200 in progress which would allow this to be built completely from source, using electron as a dependency, Do you have any thoughts on just reverting/masking this for now and holding off until we can get an ebuild based on electron?
Created attachment 429868 [details] log I seen new ebuild. We're getting somewhere but still needs some work. Build log is almost empty because everything is printed on terminal, so I'm attaching that. Error message: /usr/bin/install: cannot stat '/var/tmp/portage/app-editors/atom-1.6.2/temp/Atom/*': No such file or directory !!! doins: /var/tmp/portage/app-editors/atom-1.6.2/temp/Atom/* does not exist
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #1) > Was this ebuild tested? I guess not: >>> Install atom-1.6.2 into /var/tmp/portage/app-editors/atom-1.6.2/image/ category app-editors * ERROR: app-editors/atom-1.6.2::gentoo failed (install phase): * dosym: two arguments needed
I don't get it. How is it that someone can send completly untested ebuild to production?
Also, could it be that all these node dependencies are installed during compilation?
OK, works after last commit 5ef36ff699cb6343c0f1207d84cf52a66c91c6bc. With over 2k files in node modules. IMO those modules should be moved to separate ebuilds.

For me it hangs after printing the line Installing background-tips@0.26.0
Seems to be all right in 1.7.3-r1.
