tomcat ebuilds are currently out dated, to install the 5.0.27 version, i tried to make an ebuild myself. Basicaly i just copied the one for 5.0.25 and changed SRC_URI in it. There is still a problem when a tomcat user exists (from a non tomcat5 install) because tomcat is now installed in /opt/tomcat5 and the home directory of the registerd tomcat user is not updated by the ebuild. I don't know enough on ebuild making to solve that. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 35908 [details] tomcat-5.0.27 ebuild tarball
Created attachment 36036 [details] tomcat-5.0.27 ebuild tarball - Corrected /etc/tomcat5 and /var/log/tomcat5 symlinks (were broken in 5.0.25). - Moved READMEs to /usr/share/doc/ (like in 4.1.29). - Fixed /etc/tomcat5/tomcat-users.xml perms (to 640, like in 4.1.29). - Gone back to ~x86 - Cleared the $header. This is my first ebuild, i already read some docs on gentoo.org but i certainly do many things the wrong way... so, feedback and advices are highly wanted. ps: why do 4.1.29 do much more things than 5.0.25 (JARs relocations for example)? Hope that helps.
