I'm running a mariadb-galera cluster since a couple of months on some Cubox-i's.

The current version 10.0.22 and the previous version 10.0.21 compiled and were running without problems.

dev-db/mariadb-galera is going to be obsoleted by dev-db/mariadb-10.1.x with USE=galera

Okay, thanks for the information. In this case I think it's no longer necessary to keyword it or at least, I'm migrating to dev-db/mariadb.
