I wanted to switch to kde-misc/yakuake:5 from slot 4 after KDE Plasma 5.5.5 stabilisation in https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561390 After launching yakuake, yakuake complains that konsole is not installed. eix -Ic konsole [I] kde-apps/konsole (4.14.3-r2(4)@29.03.2016): KDE's terminal emulator So yakuake explicit requires kde-apps/konsole Slot 5.
$ equery g yakuake * dependency graph for kde-misc/yakuake-3.0.2 [snip] `-- kde-apps/konsole-15.12.3 (>=kde-apps/konsole-14.12.0) $(add_kdeapps_dep konsole) in yakuake ebuild makes sure slot 5 is pulled in.
Funny. ~2 hours ago, i could install yakuake:5 without the blocker. But now this works: [ebuild NS ~] kde-apps/konsole-15.12.3:5::gentoo [4.14.3-r2:4/4.14::gentoo] USE="X handbook -debug {-test}" 0 KiB [ebuild N ~] kde-misc/yakuake-3.0.2:5::gentoo USE="-debug" 0 KiB [blocks B ] kde-apps/konsole:4 ("kde-apps/konsole:4" is blocking kde-apps/konsole-15.12.3) Total: 2 packages (1 new, 1 in new slot), Size of downloads: 0 KiB Conflict: 1 block (1 unsatisfied) Sorry for the false alarm.
