I can report success with copying over the 0.49 ebuild to 0.50 with a change to FW_VERSION from 1.1 to 1.2.  Also, the 1.2 firmware will need to be pushed out to gentoo mirrors as happened with the previous firmwares due to the license agreement acceptance required to download the firmware package (I downloaded 1.2 myself to test the new version).
