While emerging crypt++-2.91, and running genlop-0.20.2 to show the currently compiling packages it crashes with the following error: Nested quantifiers in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/^(.*?): >>> emerge .*?\)(.*?/crypt++ <-- HERE .*?)to // at /usr/bin/genlop line 375, <e_log> line 2. NOTE: genlop didn't crash while compiling different packages (eg. evolution), so it seem it's crypt++ specific. Also, the same thing happens with genlop-0.30.2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge --nodeps crypt++ 2. genlop --current Portage 2.0.50-r9 (default-x86-2004.0, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r0, 2.6.7) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.7 i686 Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 1.90GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -mmmx -msse -msse2" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -mmmx -msse -msse2" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://cs.ubishops.ca/pub/gentoo ftp://sunsite.ualberta.ca/pub/unix/Linux/gentoo/ ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j1" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://eigen.tomek.ca/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow S3TC X X509 acl alsa apm arts avi bindist cdr crypt cscope cups divx4linux doc dvd encode esd ethereal fbcon foomaticdb gdbm gif gimpprint gpm gtk gtk2 imap imlib java jpeg kde libg++ libwww lzw-tiff mad maildir mmx mozilla moznocompose moznoirc moznomail mozsvg mozxmlterm mpeg ncurses nls nogcj noreiserfs oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcmcia pdflib perl plotutils png pnp python qt quicktime readline samba sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcpd tetex threads tiff truetype type1 unicode usb video_cards_nvidia vim-with-x wifi wildlsearch wmf wxwindows x86 xchattext xerces xface xine xml2 xv xvid zlib"

I have the same problem with different packages. I use genlop 0.30.2. I got the following error: "!!! Error: no working merge found" In the backgound I have a merge of kde-base/kdebase-3.3.2-r2 running. The problem showed up also with other merges, I can't remember anymore. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2005.0/2.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.4.26-gentoo-r13 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.26-gentoo-r13 i686 Pentium III (Katmai) Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.3 [2.3.3 (#1, Jun 23 2004, 23:14:51)] ccache version 2.3 [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.3 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.59-r5 sys-devel/automake: 1.8.5-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.14.90.0.7-r4 sys-devel/libtool: 1.4.3-r3 virtual/os-headers: 2.4.21 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/env /usr/kde/3.3/share/config /usr/kde/3.3/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/" LANG="de_DE@euro" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage/" USE="x86 X alsa apm arts avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo cdr crypt cups curl emboss encode esd fam flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile imlib ipv6 java jpeg junit kde ldap libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcltk tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts xml xml2 xmms xv zlib linguas_de" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS
