After any openssl upgrade Net-SSLeay is broken with error: Mar 9 10:25:06 albatros2-vbox1 kernel: traps: perl[22013] trap invalid opcode ip:7fde0d933b4f sp:7fffee0ba9d0 error:0 in SSLeay.so[7fde0d900000+57000] after rebuilding all works perfectly. So some kind of dependcy in ebuild should be made, causing Net-SSLeay after upgrading openssl. Reproducible: Always
Please provide emerge --info Net-SSLeay and also please show between what concrete openssl versions did it broke
Also, looking to fedora it doesn't seem to need this rebuilding, but maybe because they have a newer version

dev-perl/Net-SSLeay-1.650.0-r1::gentoo was built with the following: USE="" gawriloff@voip-mo ~ $ sudo qlop -l openssl Mon Dec 28 17:31:38 2015 >>> dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2e Mon Feb 1 08:59:35 2016 >>> dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2f Mon Feb 29 17:12:45 2016 >>> dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2f It was either between 1.0.2e and 1.0.2f or between 1.0.2f and 1.0.2f
Personally I think this looks to be a dev-perl/Net-SSLeay bug, it shouldn't break as ABI/API didn't change in openssl between that releases, but I will also CC openssl maintainers as they will know better. Anyway, as I read in Fedora ChangeLog, we need a newer dev-perl/Net-SSLeay to play nice with recent openssl releases (and libreoffice additionally)
just version bump & subslot it and should be fine
(In reply to SpanKY from comment #5) > just version bump & subslot it and should be fine done
