Hello,

    I upgraded to mail-client/thunderbird-38.6.0 and in the QA logs the following information was provided by Portage.

    QA: prepare
    The version of lightning used for localization differs from the version in thunderbird.  Please update MOZ_LIGHTNING_VER in the ebuild from 4.0.5 to 4.0.6

    Line #8 of thunderbird-38.6.0.ebuild has the following declaration.
    MOZ_LIGHTNING_VER="4.0.5"

    In a local overlay, I went to prepare the ebuild with MOZ_LIGHTNING_VER="4.0.6" as suggested. Unfortunately, while digesting, I discovered the Gentoo Source Mirrors (as expected) do not contain lightning-4.0.6.tar.xz

    I did a little digging around to find the updated Lightning sources which are _not_ a release but rather a *candidate*.

    They may be found at ftp.mozilla.org.
    https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/candidates/4.0.6-candidates/build1/linux-x86_64/

    Since the ebuild's QA in the prepare phase bothered to leave the note, it would seem there is a discrepancy somewhere because at the end of the day the Thunderbird installation was bundled with the Lightning 4.0.6 extension as seen in the Add-ons Manager when using the ebuild as is from The Portage Tree.

    Should we ignore this QA note since the Add-ons Manager does indeed indicate Lightning 4.0.6 is bundled with the build?

Yep, this one is known.  Fortunately it's not an issue; lightning 4.0.5 and 4.0.6 do not differ in terms of their localization mappings.

Thunderbird-45 and 37.0 will be hitting the gentoo repo soon, and I will be rolling matching lightning localization tarballs for both.
