Ever since kodi and/or xbmc had been group below media-tv/. However, at no time Gentoo provided anything related to TV (PVR) and XMBC / KODI. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install kodi (works) 2. run kodi (works) 3. try to instal a pvr add-on (remember: media-tv/...) THERE IS NONE. Actual Results: Nothing works. Expected Results: Provide a canonical PVR addon, or move kodi away from media-tv/ as it (in the current state of the Gentoo ebuilds) just does not belong there. Tried something. At github there is (e.g.) https://github.com/herrnst/gentoo-kodi-overlay.git But the plugins do not compile against kodi 16 (AKA Jarvis, fucking code names) At least, it would be a little bit more honest for Gentoo to move kodi away from media-tv/ -- simply because inside Gentoo kodi just has no connection whatsoever to TV.
i just added kodi-pvr-hts-16*. in case you need some other pvr add-on, just let me know and i might create the ebuild(s).
meh. seems like pointless bikeshedding. a lot of people use Kodi on their TVs to watch media.
