You haven't even tested the ebuild you're posting here, did you? Your Download-Path still points to http://www.xchat.org/files/source/2.0 but it has to be 2.1 of course.
Also, are you sure the patches against the old xchat are still working against the new one? I haven't tested it, too, but at least i'm not posting such an ebuild until i tested it myself!

i'm running the new xchat version RIGHT NOW, no problems.
also if you would be so kind to check the ebuild, i have removed ALL the patches.

true, i haven't edited the downloadpath. i'm sorry about that.

i had changed the KEYWORDS to ~x86 localy to install it easily, fixed. now back
to '-*'

Working here, just fine.  I made the modifications to the 2.0.9 ebuild, and put it in the portage overlay.  Works like a charm.  No issues so far.

Commited to CVS. I package.mask'ed >=net-irc/xchat-2.1.0 and this will stay until
new stable series has been releases from upstream.
