Description erik.hitt 2016-02-22 01:23:26 UTC
This is my first install of Gentoo. I was following the handbook for x86 architecture in order to install Gentoo on a Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop, and everything was going smoothly until I input 'genkernel all'. The instructions following the error message said to report the bug on this site and assign it to genkernel@gentoo.org, but I don't see a place to assign it. I will copy/paste the log information here, but I don't know how to grab the entire file from the chroot so this is the best I've got. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Do you still have trouble or you solved the issue? If you didn't, first of all paste in a comment your "emerge --info" and "emerge -pv genkernel gentoo-sources" output.

First gentoo installations sometimes get rough but if you have the patience to give it a try, it's worth the effort.

Thank you for your report.
