Please add 

doexe usr/bin/nvidia-settings

before
doexe usr/bin/nvidia-bug-report.sh

in the ebuild. Without it, no nvidia-settings and I don't know how far this is connected, but divx video was way too dark with ebuild in portage. After adding that line and executing nvidia-setting, everything was fine again.

Um emerge nvidia-settings

divx being dark is another problem, please merge nvidia-settings and see if the problem persists and if so provide whatever info you can.

Well, as I said, after I modified the ebuild, emerged modified nvidia-glx to merge nvidia-setting, executed nvidia-setting, divx video was ok again.

I think Andrew meant that nvidia-settings is a _seperate ebuild_, it's not included in nvidia-glx for a *reason*...

nvidia-settings is a seperate package because its source is supplied etc..

It will not be merged to nvidia-glx, that is that.

Please update to the latest opengl-update and nvidia-glx and nvidia-settings in portage and report back how you fair one divx stuff. Post the outputs of emerge info and glxinfo (or attach as _Plain text_ format files which ever you prefer).

Oh OK, now I understand it. :) Was there a notice at nvidia-glx ebuild? If not, perhaps it should be considered to add one. I'll test then today evening.

Hmmm, I couldn't reproduce the divx trouble. I unmerged my modified ebuild, emerged portage ebuild, did a reboot, divx video was ok...

I don't know what broke it. Perhaps the -r2 or -r1 ebuild. Well...

Well if it works with -r3 thats fine for me as the old versions are not in the tree any more.
