Skale is a fruity-loops (music synthesizer) equivalent program for Linux. It seems very popular, and I think it is worthy of an ebuild. Thanks a bunch!
Got an ebuild? Much more likely to be added if you provide one :)
I will try making one, never done it before, but I'll try!
Hi Jordan, you've probably already come across these documents on ebuild, but if not you might want to have a look at them. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ebuild-submit.xml http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=3 you can simply add your ebuild as attachment to this bug.
Nice, a binary package and the executable name is Sk@le076wFixed.rh9 ...
I wrote an ebuild today. It seems to work, but as I'm pretty new to this, I bet it could still be improved. One thing sb. should add is a wrapperscript for startup, as putting a symlink in /usr/bin does not work as Sk@le is looking for files in the current direktory. So you'll need to cd /usr/share/skale-076 and then start the executable. Perhapps I'll add the wrapper later.

Created attachment 47554 [details] Matching Manifest for .80a ebuild Matching Manifest for .80a ebuild. This is for the download from 'Awesome's (maintaner & developer of Skale) official site, Metamacro.
as a sidenote: best category for Sk@le would be media-sound/skale, as it is an advanced FT2-like music-tracker

i've made a new skale-0.80a ebuild. Not that the old one was bad, but it was not made into the gentoo mood (with gentoo commands i mean). I hope this will be useful for all of us!

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
