Comment 3 Carsten Niehaus 2004-08-02 03:59:07 UTC
I have been using 2.0.2 since it is in portage without problems. I copied the 2.0.2-ebuild to gimp-2.0.3.ebuild without modifications and that also works as expected!
Comment 4 Dominik Stadler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-06 02:15:14 UTC
In the meantime 2.0.4 was released:

  http://www.gimp.org/downloads/#mirrors

This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.0 series. A number of build

- fixed wrong EXIF handling in JPEG plug-in, a bug that has been
  introduced in 2.0.3 (#148632)
- fixed bug in Script-Fu extension (bug #148729)

Comment 5 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-06 16:35:46 UTC
gnome herd: Gentoo is supposed to be bleeding edge. I'm missing Gimp 2.1.x ebuilds... :)
Comment 6 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-06 18:12:44 UTC
very funny .. if there was infinite time, there would be infinite code.
Comment 7 Colin Macdonald 2004-08-06 18:28:53 UTC
Ebuild from 2.0.2 works for 2.0.4 on ~x86.
Comment 8 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-07 06:08:30 UTC
liguidx: didn't say you should hack on gimp .. only the ebuild :p Sorry. :) I'll sit down and wait.
Comment 9 Colin Macdonald 2004-08-07 15:15:11 UTC
carlo: you might wait a while as gentoo usually only adds stable branches of software to portage (though if *you* hack on gimp 2.1.x then you could probably get it hardmasked --- at least thats how gimp 2pre* was handled)
Comment 10 vjacob 2004-08-16 04:39:08 UTC
from #gimp

13:28 <@neo> there are just a few minor fixes in the tree since the 2.0.4
             release was done
13:28 <@neo> so at the moment I don't see a reason for pushing 2.0.5
13:28 <@neo> vjacob: you could tell us why you want a 2.0.5 release
13:29 < vjacob> neo: i don't necessarily. i want to know if it makes more sense
to wait for 2.0.5 for an ebuild update
13:29 < vjacob> neo: so far i've suggested 2.0.3, someone then suggested 2.0.4,
might as well wait if 2.0.5 came out in a week
13:29 <@neo> as long as there doesn't turn up an urgent problem I don't expect
             2.0.5 before september
13:30 <@neo> and you should definitely suggest 2.0.4
Comment 11 Colin Macdonald 2004-08-21 14:45:03 UTC
Close this bug. 2.0.4 is in portage
Comment 12 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-22 01:05:46 UTC
2.0.3 and 2.0.4 are in portage.
