On other Linux distributions, say Ubuntu, I can cd into the DropBox directory and issue the following command: dropbox filestatus It gives me an overview which files are synced, which are not, etc. It allows me to exclude files and folders from being synced. On gentoo, the above command "dropbox filestatus" just results in the message: Another instance of Dropbox (12820) is running! That doesn't seem right at all!
Oh well, I had to install dropbox-cli. So the command one Gentoo is dropbox-cli, not just dropbox. That's kind of weired and inconsistent with other distros.
