The only reason go-bootstrap exists is to allow the bootstrapping of
newer versions of Go, so I want to note that I don't feel this should
block stabilization.

I agree, but it's still a bug.

What is your opinion on a go-bin pkg that avoids the go-bootstrap requirement?
Comment 3 William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2016-02-07 19:25:06 UTC
I am unable to reproduce this failure, and it seems that the failure is
based on the speed of the system running the tests.

The simplest way forward would be to put RESTRICT="test" in the ebuild,
but I'm undecide about whether this is the correct solution.
Comment 4 William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2016-03-13 15:48:50 UTC
Once go-1.6-r2 is stabilized, this butg will no longer be an issue since
go-bootstrap will be removed from the tree.
