I had a similar problem for a while when using the mozplugger plugin. After setting dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit.enabled;true in about:config there still happens a crash from time to time of the plugin-container, but Firefox itself does not crash. On the other hand setting dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit.enabled to true is incompatible with the adobe-flash plugin as far as i know. Anyhow, might be a different problem in your case.
I believe I didn't open any websites with enabled Flash plugin while these short sessions with 44.0. Anyway, I still use few websites which require Flash, so switching it off completely isn't an option for me… yet. Right now I've dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit.enabled set to false.
Hmm, just tested adobe-flash with firefox 44.0 and dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit.enabled set to true, it worked fine with the few pages i tried it on. So you could try if it works for you. e.g. quickpkg current firefox emerge the new one, set the about:config entry (perhaps restart firefox), and try if it works for you, if not you can simply re-emerge the old binary again. Also since ffmpeg is available, you probably won't need gstreamer-0 anymore. You could also try a build without hardened and see if that is an issue.

If you feel I have closed your bug and it is still a current issue, please reopen and update it completely. We will not work bugs that have no ebuild in tree any longer or can not be reproduced with a current system. Thank You for your support and understanding The Mozilla Team
