Currently, the link to the old CVS Changelog is only provided when there are no commits in git. I think this is a useful features that should be shown whenever relevant (i.e when the packages existed in the old CVS repo).

I don't think this is worth doing; its only going to be less useful as time goes on and git contains more and more of the log.
