Description Michal Maruska 2002-07-29 05:08:23 UTC
emerge lftp
fails, because the *.a file is missing. But *.la file exists on my machine.
Is that my fault?
Comment 1 Nick Hadaway 2002-07-29 11:41:10 UTC
what build of gcc are you running? I have emerged on the latest builds of gcc-
3.1 and gcc-3.1.1 in portage without a problem.
Comment 2 Jacob Perkins 2002-07-29 11:43:48 UTC
are you using the newest gcc 3.1? See bug 3890 (it's resolved fixed) and see if
that helps.
Comment 3 Nick Hadaway 2002-08-02 11:03:27 UTC
I have just compiled and installed lftp on both and a gcc-2.95.3 and gcc-3.1-r7
system without any problems. If you can send me any logs, what version of gcc
you are using, and what revision of lftp you are trying to build, then I can
help your further.
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2002-08-08 11:57:35 UTC
I just emerge lftp-2.5.4-r1 again without a problem on the newest gcc-3.1.1-r1.

I will be adding lftp-2.6.0 later today.
Comment 5 Nick Hadaway 2002-08-10 11:30:47 UTC
lftp-2.6.0 has been added to portage. Can you please let me know if you still
have troubles with this new version?
Comment 6 Nick Hadaway 2002-08-13 16:19:25 UTC
lftp-2.6.1 has now been added to portage and compiles fine on gcc3. Closing
bug report due to lack of response from reporter and multiple confirmations of
people with no installation problems. I would suggest that if the original
reporter is still having problems to do this...

emerge rsync
emerge gcc
emerge lftp
