I had a quick look at this but I ran into a lot of build failures with various USE flag combinations. I'll attempt to create patches and send upstream.

Issues are filed upstream for three issues:

1. Fails to link against system quazip
2. Fails to build with tiff disabled
3. Fails to build with quazip disabled

Thanks, fixed in git. All discovered issues have been fixed upstream and backported.
