Currently, the firefox ebuild disables chat and venkman.  Short of editing the ebuild and rebuilding, there's no way of enabling those features.  Perhaps the built-in extensions should be supported via a useflag.  Venkman is extremely useful for developers.

Yes, I'd like to use the Venkman debugger plug-in. I talked to the people in #venkman at irc.mozilla.org and they pointed out that Firefox is being built with the flag --disable-jsd, which disables functionality required for Venkman.

Ah, the use-flag mozdevelop enables what I need to use Venkman. Disregard previous comment...

Regarding venkman, yes it is enabled via USE=mozdevelop

Is chat still relevant for firefox-1.0-r1?  When enabled, does it actually work?  If so, then please re-open this bug and we'll investigate further.
