Description Michael Crawford (ali3nx) 2004-07-14 17:47:06 UTC
This is needed asap... i'm tryin to work up an ebuild due to the assertion bug in 2.5.5-r2 that makes squid backfire and die randomly

2004/07/13 19:22:20| assertion failed: errorpage.c:292: "mem->inmem_hi == 0"
2004/07/13 19:22:24| Starting Squid Cache version 2.5.STABLE5-CVS for i686-pc-l$
see here for the patch http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.5/bugs/squid-2.5.STABLE5-post_assert.patch

platforms	All
Comment 3 Michael Crawford (ali3nx) 2004-07-14 20:50:24 UTC
just looked at the ebuild twice and realised gentoo's only adding security patches..? the lack of cosmetic patches are whats making 400 users squid cache fart and reload at my isp.. =/ maybe reworking the ebuild to use the major diff so that squid is fully up to date may be advisable and desirable.
Comment 4 Andrew Bevitt 2004-07-14 21:22:54 UTC
Which patches are you refering to??? Or do you mean something needs to be written?
Comment 5 Andrew Bevitt 2004-07-14 21:37:34 UTC
Erm thats not really sensical..

What I mean is which patches from the list are you refering to? Or all of them?
Comment 6 Michael Crawford (ali3nx) 2004-07-14 21:55:45 UTC
i understand your concern and can relate... do at least add the medium severity patches perhaps. the version bump would fix errorpage.c at least. any imput you have on this would be welcome as i'm still learning procedure and regulations.
