I would like to request that games-arcade/supertux-0.4.0 has its SLOT variable set to 1, so that it and games-arcade/supertux-0.1.3 can be installed simultaneously on the same system. Version 0.1.3 (or Milestone 1) and 0.4.0 (or Milestone 2) can work independently of one another on other Linux distributions (e.g., I know on Arch Linux they can) and I have taken the SuperTux 0.4.0 ebuild from the tree, made this modification to it, placed it into my personal overlay (sabayon-tools, ebuild URL: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fusion809/sabayon-tools/master/games-arcade/supertux/supertux-0.4.0.ebuild) and merged it with SuperTux 0.1.3 already merged on my system and they both are working without a hitch.
why ? we don't normally SLOT multiple versions. it implies we plan on supporting multiple ones simultaneously and for a long time. if you want to play the old version, then mask the new one locally.
I know how to play the old one locally (that's why I took it into my overlay, so I can make the SLOT adjustment I wanted so I could play them both locally), I just fail to see why we support for both should not exist. I just fail to understand why they shouldn't be slotted differently if they can both work simultaneously without a problem. SuperTux 0.1.3 is presently marked stable anyway, so I don't know how and why supporting both 0.1.3 and 0.4.0 long-term is going to be a drama.
games-arcade/supertux-0.1.3 is gone
