Description Erich Heintz 2002-07-28 19:05:11 UTC
Yesterday (27JUL02) had a problem with Net-SSLeay and others that was resolved
with http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=9829

This seems to be a non-issue as of an rsync today. However, now it seems that
certain packages are installing files into /

In particular

NetSSLeay installs Net-SSLeay-1.15.pod to /
XML-Parser installs XML-Parser-2.31.pod to /
XML-RegExp installs XML-RegExp-0.03.pod to /
Webmin installs uninstall.sh to /

These are all I've come across so far. This is on a fresh 1.2 install that has
been emerge -u world this morning.

The system is about as generic as it gets. Athlon-tbird 1200 using basic
gcc-2.95.3 i686 optimizations

I shall have a look at this, though this might be a portage issue. Will
investigate, anyway

As of an rsync @ 17:30 EDT the issue will the .pod files seems to be resolved,
however webmin still installs uninstall.sh to /

Erich,

Is this still a problem for you or has it been resolved? Just wanted to
check in,

Mike

Testing for the new eclass is done, all modules and packages have been updated,
and this has been commited. Thanks for your patience,

Michael
