See the attached list for a brief summary of suggested changes, some of the information currently in the manual is deprecated, some other is plain wrong right now. I also added some extensions for issues that I see often in the forums or on IRC.

Created attachment 35637 [details, diff] patch for portage-manual.xml Here's a draft that tries to take into consideration all the points raised by genone. Moreover, I couldn't help doing some other changes, like cutting or rewording paragraphs for the sake of readibility (I hope) and to avoid guide explosion. The result is a definitely intrusive patch. I already feel the pain of the translators if it is accepted ;) Please take a look... Date and version not touched.
I'll read the updated version and very probably commit it ASAP (i.e. before Jul-19). All comments will be appreciated.
