Hello! I am using an application, which needs dev-lang/mono-basic. If it's not installed, my appliaction won't work. WARNING: The runtime version supported by this application is unavailable. Using default runtime: v4.0.30319 Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. File name: 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' [ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. File name: 'Microsoft.VisualBasic, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' But the current version in portage of mono-basic 2.10 is too old and blocked by mono 4.*. Or I have to downgrade to mono 3.*. Please bump mono-basic to the current version 4.0.1 and unblock it in mono 4.* Just renaming of mono-basic-2.10.ebuild to mono-basic-4.0.1.ebuild works perfectly fine here and my application is working again! No file conflicts, as with mono-basic-2.10.. Reproducible: Always
Any news on this?
Created attachment 455914 [details] mono-basic-4.6.ebuild

I was wondering why https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=580316 is marked as a blocker for this bug, when mono-basic-4.0.1 actually compiles and runs fine against mono-4.4.1.0. I have tested this both on AMD64 and ARM.
Why this has been scheduled for remove? :(
