Hi! I think it would be cool if we would add a tag similar to <link REL="shortcut icon" HREF="/gentoo.ico" TYPE="image/x-icon"> between the <head></head> tags of the gentoo web pages. Tod likes the cool little web page icons that show up in Galeon next to the URL box and in the bookmarks. My vote is for the fish head on concentric circles icon that accompanies the "Quick note: New Stable Kernel" story on the Gentoo main page. :)
um, I guess I need to merge galeon again to see what you are talking about.
Hi! Not very many websites have this yet. Gentoo.org could be cutting edge :) Looking through my bookmarks, I know that slashdot has it, of course the galeon website supports it, and also mozilla.org. In fact, I think mozilla the browser uses this and will add the little icon next to the URL box when you visit a site, but I don;t think it adds the icon to the bookmarks like galeon does. In galeon, you might notice that if you save a site with this feature as a bookmark, it will first try to download the icon.
We actually had this semi-support but I didn't have the right stuff in <head> to enable it for all browsers. Now we do... see what you think. The icon isn't wonderful, but can be improved with time.
Trying to clean out the docs-depricated so that I can close the catergory ...
