stablereq Reproducible: Always
CC arches if OK :D
+1 ! Because I was moving from 6.2.0 to the current stable 6.9.0 and run into an serious issue, which seems to be fixed in 6.3.0. The issue with 6.9.0: If there is no local (valid) lease available, the dhcpcd will get one from the server and store it. But then, it will not switch to background but stay waiting until the configured timeout and exit with failure. From this, the Gentoo netif framework will fail to start that interface. Notice that one will just run into this issue, if the local lease is out of time and this typically is not the case. And because a lease is obtained and stored, on the next try to start the interface (or machine) the issue is masked. This is fixed using 6.9.3, it behaves like 6.2.0
See bug #571152. There is a security issue requiring stabilization of 6.10.0.
