Description Stephen Torri 2004-07-12 12:02:01 UTC
A lot of websites like to put cookies on a computer that are good until 2034 for example. I don't know about a lot people liking a cookie good for the next 30 years. A web browser should be able to all the user to specify in a gui or a configuration file was is the maximum lifetime of a cookie. For example, using Firefox, selecting Options -> Privacy -> Cookies -> Maximum lifetime in days: 5. So if I got a cookie on Monday its expired by Friday night or Saturday morning.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
(None)

Expected Results:
Cookie is expired X number of days after the day received.

I really wonder if grammar deficiencies is a curable disease.

Allow user to set cookie lifetime to X days is my request. So a cookie received on Monday at 01:00 will be set to expire on Saturday at 01:00 because the user set the max cookie lifetime to 5 days.

There is not anything that Gentoo could/should fix here, feature requests belong upstream.
