When trying to access a flash drive in Cinnamon using Nemo, I get an error saying "Not authorized to perform operation". Mounting stuff works fine in KDE.

What nemo version are you running? Please show "emerge --info". Are you using systemd or consolekit? Is your user in plugdev group?
