do people actually unmerge grep after the system install?

It is a known fact that Gentoolkit depends on a relatively new version of grep.
As some people still run old installations, they may in fact have an outdated
grep. This is a flaw and should be fixed.

All our packages have tons of implicit dependencies. For instance, they expect
that sed, awk, grep, etc are there, because those are required by Portage itself,
and Portage is expected to be installed at all times.

Therefore, the suggested fix in this bug report is bogus; people who unmerge
grep cannot be expected to be able to install Gentoolkit in the first place.

Portage doesn't warn if you uninstall central packages, but that is not my
problem to fix, Daniel knows this.

Therefore, I think it is reasonable that the bug reporter intended that we
should depend on the correct version of grep, although that is definitely NOT
what this bug appears to purport.

Fixed in app-admin/gentoolkit-0.1.15-r2
