Description Salim Fadhley 2004-07-11 07:56:12 UTC
Telephony product that implement standards based VOIP (as opposed to closed p2p applications such as skype) should go into their own category in portage. I suggest net-voip, or net-telephony.

At the moment applications like kphone and asterisk are lumped in with the randomness of net-misc.

There are a bunch of clients that do VOIP in net-im. kphone should probably be moved there (I'm sure it gets lonely in net-misc). The asterisk related ebuilds should go into net-telephony when there are enough of them - there are only 4 now, but I'm sure that number will grow in the future.

net-misc/asterisk
net-misc/asterisk-oh323
net-misc/asterisk-sccp
net-misc/kphone
net-misc/zaptel
net-im/gnomemeeting
net-im/gnophone
net-im/linphone
net-im/ohphone
net-im/skype
