my build log

In a fresh Gentoo chroot (created by following the Wiki Guide https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:X86/Chroot_Guide) I ran:

emerge -b =app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-5.0.10.104061

which returned the error, when compiling app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.10:

is the output of emerge --info '=app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.10::gentoo', while emerge -pqv '=app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.10::gentoo' returns:
[ebuild  N    ] app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.10  USE="-pax_kernel"

After seeing bug #548404 I decided to run:

USE="pax_kernel" emerge =app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.10

and it returned the same error.

Thanks for your time,
Brenton

Is your kernel source actually compiled or are you attempting to use the hosts kernel?
Comment 2 fuse809 2015-11-14 04:44:37 UTC
I'm using the host's kernel. Guessing that would be the root of this problem?
