I tried dbus-monitor and see absolutely nothing. skype from the commandline is silent too. Any ideas? All other dbus things seem working fine. skype options are showing x11 and dbus transports selected but grayed out. Wonder I haven't guessed and checked out earlier. This happens because I always start it like this (using hot key): kdesudo -u me-skype /usr/bin/skype No chroot jail though. This way it does not listen qdbus under neither me nor me-skype. But I just tried normal way: # su - me-skype $ startx konsole: $ skype $ qdbus And there it is. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'd be thankful for some advise: is there any way to keep skype running under kdesudo (ideally under chroot jail which I learned about just a few days ago) and still have it on dbus?
