Trying to do showmount -e ip on the gentoo system, it takes many time before doing it. When I do this from an other computer it's very fast. Thank you for the bug report. To me it looks if this is not a bug due to a broken package. Please provide more information, if I am wrong. The bugtracker is not a good place for discussion, so my suggestion is: Try to look for a mistake in the network configuration. You may find help for example on IRC and in forums.
