Description Raymond Jennings 2015-11-10 20:13:45 UTC
The manpage for gfdl(7) just has a single word "timestamp"

/usr/share/gcc-data/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.9.3/man/man7/gfdl.7

This is...probably not what should be inside.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
timestamp

Expected Results:
The contents of the GFDL

might be a race. probably easier to just delete the file entirely.
Comment 3 Raymond Jennings 2015-11-11 07:09:36 UTC
I tried that, and two things:

qfile shows that it is part of the installation for gcc

locate shows that there is no other version of that manpage on my system.

Deleting it caused "man gfdl" to get nothing.

Remerging gcc just restores the file with "timestamp" inside and restores the (imo errant) status quo.

What would make this a race condition?

the gpl manpage looks fine btw.

looks like it's because the gfdl.7 man page itself is broken in the tarballs. upstream has fixed in newer versions. i don't think it's worth the effort to correct it for these 5 versions.
