At first try, it looks like a simple version bump is not enough, as it requires a newer media-libs/clutter: "Requested 'clutter-1.0 >= 1.23.7' but version of Clutter is 1.22.4" Reproducible: Always

Where does it say, that clutter >=1.23.7 is required? If you find an outdated ebuild of clutter, you may request a version bump and we can link the request here as dependency.

I found the medis-libs/clutter dependency when I bumped it in my local overlay. When I tried to compile it, it printed the above line out during configure (IIRC).

It's true that it won't make it bumped before the rest of GNOME 3.18, but that's only because it depends on a newer version of clutter, which we can't bump individually without GNOME 3.18 due to potential compatibility issues. Pinpoint itself is not a part of our regular GNOME set, and we will have to remember to bump pinpoint separately after the clutter dep can be satisfied in-tree. We don't have it in overlay either, to remind us that way it needs to get in the main tree. So this bug could be that reminder. As for the dep, it's changed in pinpoint configure.ac to indeed require >=media-libs/clutter-1.23.7
and I fully disagree with you for what I have stated, but well, some people tend to force on others some kind of personal workflow with bug reports I don't fully understand
Well, sorry leio for the tone (it's not ok to me to deal with this after returning home at night :S) What I meant it -> we are notified via desktop-devel-list, we also check with euscan for all the pending bump => having one for report for any package not following 3.18.x adds nothing but... well, one more bug report that will be closed as soon as we dig with all the pending bumps from desktop-devel-list and euscan :/
