Since it looks like this is being handled with typical Gentoo alacrity, I've prepared an ebuild and checked it in to my user overlay here: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/user/JoseQ.git/tree/www-servers/resin/resin-4.0.46.ebuild That ebuild also fixes #564288
Jose, your remark is unnecessary and it just makes me want to mark the bug as WONTFIX and go on with my life. I thought it was clear by now that we're not at your disposal. But I'm a nice guy and I'm going to bump resin. If the version bump is pressing, fork the git repo on github and send us a PR: https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo. That way, we can visualise/test the changes quicker on our end, and you can avoid writing useless comments and wasting time on your end.

Hi Patrice, thank you for adding me in to this bug. The upstream has just indicated that the java8 issue has been fixed in 4.0.47 so please bump this version instead. Cheers.

Compilation with Java 8 was fixed in version 4.0.45. Look at the release notes here: http://caucho.com/products/resin/download/gpl#download Also, there is no version 4.0.47 on that page.
