Description Geordon Marchak 2004-07-07 23:09:12 UTC
Gimp doesn't build with tiff libraries unless the following econf line is removed:
    use_with tiff libtiff

I suspect it's because there is no libtiff ebuild package available, so it
will always fail. All the tiff libs are in "tiff" except for geolibs, which are separate. I think the tiff package should be renamed libtiff for consistency, but that's just an opinion.

Reopen with output from emerge --info and the version of the gimp ebuild you
were trying to use. Thanks.

Comment 3 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-08 00:03:45 UTC
You don't have tiff in your USE flags. Why would it compile in tiff support
if you didn't ask for it?

If you use -v on emerge you will see the USE flags and their states.

Reopen if you still have a problem after adding tiff to your USE flags.
Comment 4 Geordon Marchak 2004-07-08 00:51:04 UTC
Sorry, my bad. Works fine with the USE set to include tiff. Maybe the default config should include tiff, but that's not really a bug.
