Hello, I've used a script to check usability of all the mirrors in the mysql mirror group, and it would appear that 22 of the 74 mirrors are bad. The situation now is better then when it was last cleaned up in bug 494854, but is there any real value in continuing to maintain this mirror group? None of these ebuilds are mirror restricted, so the vast majority of gentoo users are already fetching the distfiles from our mirrors. Do we really need to distribute those other few fetches across 74 different independent non-gentoo mirrors? As I will be saying in a few other bugs about other mirror groups: Just because a list of upstream mirrors exists somewhere, doesn't necessarily mean we need to use (and forever maintain our own local copy of) it =) Here are the results of the automated check (looking for Downloads/MySQL-5.6/mysql-5.6.27.tar.gz on each mirror): Testing "mysql" mirror group... bad: http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/db/mysql/ good: ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/db/mysql/ good: http://mysql.mirror.kangaroot.net/ bad: ftp://mysql.mirror.kangaroot.net/pub/mysql/ bad: http://mysql.blic.net/ bad: http://mysql.online.bg/ bad: ftp://mysql.online.bg/ bad: http://mysql.linux.cz/ good: ftp://ftp.fi.muni.cz/pub/mysql/ good: http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/mysql/ good: ftp://mirrors.dotsrc.org/mysql/ good: http://mirrors.ircam.fr/pub/mysql/ good: ftp://mirrors.ircam.fr/pub/mysql/ bad: http://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/mysql/ good: ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/mirror/www.mysql.com/ good: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/unix/databases/mysql/ good: http://mysql.mirrors.ovh.net/ftp.mysql.com/ good: ftp://mysql.mirrors.ovh.net/ftp.mysql.com/ good: http://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/databases/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/databases/mysql/ good: http://mysql.mirrors.crysys.hit.bme.hu/ good: ftp://ftp.crysys.hu/pub/mysql/ good: http://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/www.mysql.com/ good: ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/www.mysql.com/ good: http://na.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/MySQL/ good: ftp://na.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/MySQL/ good: http://mirror.leaseweb.com/mysql/ good: ftp://mirror.leaseweb.com/mysql/ good: http://sunsite.icm.edu.pl/mysql/ bad: ftp://sunsite.icm.edu.pl/pub/unix/mysql/ bad: http://mysql.nfsi.pt/ bad: ftp://ftp.nfsi.pt/pub/mysql/ good: http://mirrors.xservers.ro/mysql/ good: http://ftp.arnes.si/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.arnes.si/packages/mysql/ bad: http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/unix/databases/relational/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/unix/databases/relational/mysql/ good: http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/mysql/ good: ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/mysql/ bad: http://ftp.itu.edu.tr/Mirror/Mysql/ bad: ftp://ftp.itu.edu.tr/Mirror/Mysql/ good: http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.mysql.com/ good: ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.mysql.com/ good: http://mirrors.dedipower.com/www.mysql.com/ good: http://mirrors.ukfast.co.uk/sites/ftp.mysql.com/ good: ftp://mirrors.ukfast.co.uk/ftp.mysql.com/ good: http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/mysql/ good: ftp://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/mysql/ bad: http://mysql.mirror.rafal.ca/ bad: ftp://mysql.mirror.rafal.ca/pub/mysql/ bad: http://opensource.become.com/mysql/ good: http://mysql.mirrors.hoobly.com/ good: http://mysql.he.net/ good: http://mirror.trouble-free.net/mysql_mirror/ bad: http://mysql.llarian.net/ bad: ftp://mysql.llarian.net/pub/mysql bad: ftp://mirror.anl.gov/pub/mysql/ good: http://mysql.mirrors.pair.com/ bad: ftp://ftp.linorg.usp.br/mysql/ good: http://linorg.usp.br/mysql good: ftp://linorg.usp.br/mysql good: http://mysql.mirrors.arminco.com/ bad: http://mysql.spd.co.il/ good: http://ftp.iij.ad.jp/pub/db/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.iij.ad.jp/pub/db/mysql/ good: http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/mysql/ good: ftp://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/mysql/ bad: http://mysql.cdpa.nsysu.edu.tw/ good: ftp://mysql.cdpa.nsysu.edu.tw/Unix/Database/MySQL/ good: http://mysql.mirrors.ilisys.com.au/ good: http://mysql.inspire.net.nz/ good: ftp://mysql.inspire.net.nz/mysql/ Thanks!
