Description Steven Wong 2002-07-26 23:56:58 UTC
Actually, I suspect it maybe has someting to do with either me using the 1.3b
stage1 tar ball (and the portage version that comes with that), or the fact that
I'm running from a chroot'ed system (and maybe its using Debian's bash for
intepreting - I'm not too sure how chroot works).

Anyway, it's the ":" characters in the RDEPEND line of mozilla-1.0-r3.ebuild;
more specifically, at "( gtk2? >=x11-libs/gtk+-2.0.5 : =x11-libs/gtk+-1.2* )"
and the line below.

I didn't find any references to ":" in the Developer HOWTO (but I'm guessing the
howto might not be complete), so maybe its just wrong - because it gives me
weird errors when I tried emerging galeon (which then tries to merge mozilla):

!!! Error: couldn't find match for ~net-www/mozilla-1.0 in net-www/galeon-1.2.5

So I removed all the mozilla depends (I'll install them manually) in
galeon-1.2.5.ebuild. But when I tried to emerge mozilla manually:

!!! Error: couldn't find match for : in net-www/mozilla-1.0-r3

So I got rid of the ":", works for now - and I don't have time to investigate
further - sorry. :(

Steven, did you upgrade to the recently unmasked portage 2.0.22? If so, this
problem should have gone away.

Yep, it's fine now. :)
