s390 has netboot images: http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/s390/autobuilds/20151019/ [ ] netboot-s390-initramfs-20151019 19-Oct-2015 21:27 5.3M [ ] netboot-s390-kernel-20151019 19-Oct-2015 21:27 2.3M [ ] netboot-s390x-initramfs-20151019 20-Oct-2015 02:01 5.4M [ ] netboot-s390x-kernel-20151019 20-Oct-2015 02:02 2.3M but when you look at the downloads page: https://gentoo.org/downloads/#s390 it only lists stage3 and no boot media
err, you just deleted all links altogether and bounced people to the full index. this isn't an improvement.
I think people having a s390 machine can figure out what to do with the files in the directory.
being familiar with s390 is not the same as being familiar with Gentoo, nor is that a good reason to be hostile to the users. if you simply don't want to have to figure out how to make it work, then where is the code so someone else can ?

Okay, so that's why there's no handbook and only a short install guide that reads "I won't go in too much detail because if you have access to a z/VM and want to install Gentoo on it, you should have some experience."? > if you simply don't want > to have to figure out how to make it work, then where is the code so someone > else can ? I don't have to tell you that everything recently done is on git.gentoo.org, do I? But I agree, let's make the downloads page less 'hostile' than the install docs. Step 1: You'll need latest-*.txt files for all artifacts, I see s390-{initramfs,kernel} are missing.
(In reply to Alex Legler from comment #4) the install guide is not great. we poke bits on it from time to time to slowly improve it, as well as the install media. saying "it's on git.gentoo.org" isn't helpful. there are a ton of repos on there, and many of those repos are dense if not documented. i'm guessing you mean it's in "sites/www.git". and in there it's the bin/update-downloads.sh script. the current downloads page looks good now, thanks. there's no need to be antagonistic.
