Description Jesse Adelman 2015-10-20 19:29:47 UTC
media-video/transcode change seems to require a masked version of ffmpeg:

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/diff/media-video/transcode/transcode-1.1.7-r3.ebuild?id=1cd61b9e4651c7dc66bd3df619ca5e10c7f33d49

On my machine, this appears to trigger a blocker for upgrading ffmpeg to 2.8*, which is in ~amd64.

Snippet:

"The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by media-video/motion-3.2.12-r3::gentoo[-libav,ffmpeg]
# required by @selected
# required by @world (argument)
=media-video/ffmpeg-2.8.1 ~amd64"

Thanks!

Apologies in advance if I've read the tea leaves incorrectly.

Can you add the entire emerge output please? The linked changeset doesn't affect dependencies, rather just applies a patch if the version in question happens to be installed.
