A user has a package manages at gitlab and wishes to add remote-id type="gitlab" to the apt tag within metadata.xml. It requires addition to the metadata.dtd @ https://github.com/gentoo-mirror/gentoo/blob/master/metadata/dtd/metadata.dtd Can you please add it.
The "reference" repo for metadata.dtd is https://gitweb.gentoo.org/data/dtd.git/ The file is available at https://gitweb.gentoo.org/data/dtd.git/tree/metadata.dtd
Created attachment 415058 [details, diff] gitlab-remote-ids.patch I don't have push access, but I see that Michał Górny pushed the last few changes to metadata.dtd.

Please submit either the patch or RFC wrt the addition to gentoo-dev@. I would really like to avoid touching DTD without some RFC first.
I also want codeplex for some MIT-licensed packages: MIT = https://irony.codeplex.com/license

b-w cannot fix this bug either. I do not know where to assign it. either send it to whoever or if you think it should be discussed on mailing list then mark as RESOLVED UPSTREAM or something.
I don't know who to assign it to either. Assigning it to random people doesn't help, and is very impolite. If you do that again, I will have to proceed with formal complaint about your behavior.
1. by that logic it is even more impolite to assign to bug wranglers who are 100% unable to help with the issue. 2. one of the following must be the case: a) discussion is necessary. if this is the case, then a thread should be started where appropriate and the link on archives.gentoo.org should be added to the URL field. Gmane is currently down, so I am unable to read the linked message. I was also unable to locate any relevant threads on archives.gentoo.org in the month of January 2016 regarding "remote", "gitlab", or "dtd". b) discussion is not necessary. if this is the case, then infra should either commit the patch, determine who should be contacted to commit the patch, add idella4 or zmedico to the ACL so they can commit it, or if they are already on the ACL, then instruct them on how they may do so. to that end, I am assigning this to mgorny so that he may determine which of the above is the case, since he raised the objection in the first place regarding whether discussion is necessary. if the former is the case, then the bug should be RESOLVED UPSTREAM or NEEDINFO et cetera, and either idella4, zmedico, or someone else should start a mailing list thread as described above.
@infra, could you please commit the patch attached to this bug? If you're not the correct contact for data/dtd.git, do you know who is?
(In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #10) > @infra, could you please commit the patch attached to this bug? done.
Thanks!
