Description augustin 2015-10-15 09:03:09 UTC
I just installed sys-process/vixie-cron-4.1-r14::gentoo

After a successful install, I got the message:

>>> Installing (2 of 2) sys-process/vixie-cron-4.1-r14::gentoo
 * >>> SetGID: [chmod o-r] /usr/bin/crontab ...                                                                                                                      [ ok ]
 * You may wish to read the Gentoo Linux Cron Guide, which can be
 * found online at:
 *     https://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/cron-guide.xml

The link to the documentation now redirects to https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Cron .
Probably, the link in the package should be updated accordingly.
It is possible that the same changes must be made in the other cron packages (dcron, fcron, etc.).

Same for anacron:

>>> Installing (2 of 2) sys-process/anacron-2.3-r2::gentoo
 * Schedule the command "anacron -s" as a daily cron-job (preferably
 * at some early morning hour). This will make sure that jobs are run
 * when the systems is left running for a night.
 *
 * Update /etc/anacrontab to include what you want anacron to run.

 * You may wish to read the Gentoo Linux Cron Guide, which can be
 * found online at:
 *     https://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/cron-guide.xml

same for genkernel:

>>> Installing (1 of 1) sys-kernel/genkernel-3.4.52.2::gentoo

 * Documentation is available in the genkernel manual page
 * as well as the following URL:

 * https://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/genkernel.xml

=> Redirects to https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Genkernel .

Do I really need to create a new bug report for each package that has this problem?

Maybe the developers can grep the ebuild dir for links like https://www.gentoo.org/doc/...
