This can lead to a speedloss kdenlive: ycbcr_input.cpp:76: movit::YCbCrInput::YCbCrInput(const movit::ImageFormat&, const movit::YCbCrFormat&, unsigned int, unsigned int): Assertion `width % ycbcr_format.chroma_subsampling_x == 0' failed. Aborted (core dumped) This doesn't happen when GPU setting in Playback is not active. This is a small relief as the main effect I apply to images is Pan & Zoom and it's GPU only.

What are your mlt USE flags? I'm trying to reproduce, but I'm struggling to get a configuration where mlt doesn't instantly segfault.

Created attachment 420910 [details] screenshot of garbled JPEG clip This patch prevents the crash indeed, however it prevents playing the clips too. It doesn't work for clips in the timeline neither. I can no longer play any of the clips/projects when this patch is applied and GPU is enabled.
Is there an upstream bug report about this issue? They're usually pretty responsive.

Yes, I did report it upstream. Updated the URL. I had to switch to kdenlive git to be able to test the fixes. This one works fine.
