Description Tim Bowers 2015-09-27 00:17:02 UTC
I've just used the handbook for my first install using uefi (but one of many gentoo installs).

The fact you need to format the boot partition as vfat is only mentioned once at the very start of creating the partitions and never again during the document, meaning I (And I guess others) will end up following the example, which formats it as ext2.

I believe there should be at least another note at the point when file systems are applied to the partitions and not just as a passing note earlier in the document

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Follow handbook
2. Don't format as vfat as this is never given after creating the partition
3. Fail to install efi grub
Actual Results:
Grub won't install into efi /boot

Expected Results:
Grub installs correctly

it's mentioned several times, with bold and colored warning text, to use vfat. it's up to the user to actually read and perform the listed directions correctly.

several times vs once, at the wrong point in the document.
