Please add the evdev and logitech patches to xorg-x11 as were done for xfree86. See bug # 29953 for patchs and details.

Already been planning on it. See the todo at the top of the ebuild.

If it helps any, I'm already using the patches with xorg-x11 without any problems (using the hacked evdev-mouse patch for later xfree, rather than the original).  I've just dropped them in the FILESDIR and hacked additional epatch commands into the ebuild file, but it should be ok to add them to the patchset already provided for xorg-x11.

Right. They're already in my working patchset, but I've got a few more things to get in before I pop out 6.7.0-r2.

Fixed in xorg-x11-6.7.0-r2.
