I'm doing ant related work at work and so I wrote an ebuild and rewrote the Gentoo ant shell script as it appears to have strayed from the upstream provided ant script. The only testing this has had was with my current project and using the new version of ant to build ant. I think it's solid but you may want to mask it for a bit.

As there is no big rush to get this included, and you're such a smart guy, I've selected this submission as a test-candidate for the new prototype Gentoo User Ebuild Submission System. I have to clear a few details with Seemant first wrt integrating the submission system with Bugzilla, so you'll have to wait a few days for further instructions.

no rush to get this included? Why not? 1.4.1-r3 is broken. Might be specific for gentoo 1.4 though, haven't investiged why it is broken. The ebuilds for 1.5 worked perfectly afaik.
Nope, 1.4.1-r3 isn't broken, but it appears a lot of people have problems reading the Java Guide. It _always_ resolves after they've read the guide, for some obscure reason. Go figure...

Added. Will be masked for a while.
