Description Sarah Gardner 2004-07-04 07:37:05 UTC
This release of alsa disabled the option CONFIG_SND_CS46XX_NEW_DSP which was previously enabled.

Analogue output still works with this disabled, but SP/DIF output no-longer works. As I use SPDIF only, this means tht when I upgraded ALSA, I no-longer got sound.

This was discussed on the gentoo forums here: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1302483#1302483 and this patch: http://dolio.dyndns.org/users/dolio/cs46xx_enable_new_dsp.patch fixed the problem. I was advised to submit a bug report, so I have :)

Reproducible: Always

fixed in portage... you'll need to re-emerge alsa-driver.
